"Giclée Printmaker" is a broad term defined as one who makes reproductions of artists' originals. These prints can be
made by anyone with a digital camera and an inkjet printer. The resulting print therefore depends greatly on the quality of
the tools used and the skill level of the technician using them.
Artist's Intent
The Archival Inkjet Print produced by Printmakers Chicago is not a reproduction, it is a work unto itself, directed by the
artist's vision. At Printmakers Chicago, we are focused on producing Archival Inkjet Prints that convey the artist's intent
for their works, not ours. This may mean that the print matches all of the subtle nuances of the original, or perhaps it
is different, with a look that better expresses the artist's vision. We are printmakers, not duplicators. It is our goal
to aid you in creating great prints.
When a consumer buys one of our artist prints they can be assured that they will receive a print created with
the following standards:
The print expresses the artist intent
The print shows no signs of the technology used (soft lines, lack of fine detail, banding, uneven lighting etc.))
All materials used are the best quality and designed for long life
