In 1927, to celebrate 70 years in business, Sanford commissioned Norman Rockwell, the beloved Saturday Evening Post illustrator, to paint a picture the company could use to advertise its writing instruments.
 
In 2007, aiming to have hundreds of high-quality replicas made for their employees, Sanford met with Printmakers Chicago create the replicas. Printmakers Chicago photographed the painting without removing it from the wall of their boardroom, and captured an image that was true to the original.
