PHOTOGRAPHY
All photography is done utilizing a large format camera fitted with a BetterLight Super 6K digital camera back. This is the system used by many leading Museums to archive their collections. All photography services include a CD of the final files at no additional cost.

Custom set-up photography
We can alter the direction of lights to produce the desired lighting effects on textured surfaces. The camera is positioned to produce the maximum file size of up to 309 megabytes for maximum enlargement and archival needs. This is also the fee charged for three dimensional art objects. An 8x10 initial proof print is included.

Standard set-up photography
Artwork is illuminated with our standard set-up, which works well for most originals. The file created will be suitable for printing at the same size or smaller. Larger prints can be made from these files but will loose definition as the prints get bigger. Basic proofing and an 8x10 proof print is included.

Basic photography only
Same as Standard above without altering the file and proofing. This service is for those who want to keep their cost down or may have their own means of proofing and printing.

Photography Day Rate
For those with many works, this is the most cost effective way to have them photographed. The number of works that we will actually photographed will depend on how much time is to be dedicated to each one. Changes in camera position (to maximize file size) and lighting adjustments will decrease the number of works that can be done. Proofing is charged separately unless time has been set aside for this.

FILM SCANNING
Transparency and negatives scanned with standard clean up. Those originals that are damaged or extremely dirty may require Photoshop clean up at $75.00 per hour in 1/4 hour billing increments. A quote will be provided.

35mm, up to 100 megabytes   $30.00

PROOFING
(A CD will be provided for all corrected files at no additional costs)

Corrected proof   $30.00
Corrections directed by the artist will be applied to the file and an 8x10 proof will be printed.

Proofing session   $75.00 per hour (1/4 hr. increments) and $10.00 per 8x10 proof
For those with complex color issues or editing requirements this process will be the most cost-effective remedy.

LIMITS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Submitting any film, print, slide, negative, digital image, or original art to PRINTMAKERS CHICAGO for scanning or other handling constitutes an agreement by the client that any damage or loss by PRINTMAKERS CHICAGO, its subsidiary, or agents, even though due to negligence or other fault of PRINTMAKERS CHICAGO, its subsidiary, or agents will only entitle the client to replacement with a like amount of unexposed film, digital media, chemistry, processing, or raw material. Except for replacement, acceptance of, film, print, slide, negative, digital image, or original are is without other warranty of liability, and recovery for any incidental or consequential damages is excluded.
